Entertaining Style

How To End The Summer In Style This Labor Day Weekend

If you’re anything like us, on this much anticipated day off you’ll want to stay relaxed while you entertain, but do so stylishly. Labor Day reminds us that summer won’t last much longer and so you can bet we spent the day outdoors. While many may opt for a classic barbeque, this year we kept it easy with a light coastal picnic. No pun intended but when it came time to eat, we thoroughly enjoyed the fruits of our labor, because that’s precisely the point of this lovely summer holiday. Instead of spending hours stuck in the kitchen preparing dishes we kept it super simple and light with our favorite cheeses, tasty crackers, and juicy fruit skewers.

A long weekend and the beginning of a new season makes for the perfect time to not only do a fall wardrobe refresh but even more important some deep self-reflecting. Joining us on our breezy summer picnic was our dear friend Michaela of More Positivity, a Portland-based life coach and writer, who offered an abundance of useful life advice. As we head into September and the last few months of 2019, she reminded us that making an effort to fill our lives and calendars with people and things that make us happy is the true recipe for successfully entering the fall season.

Perhaps it’s the presence of the Virgo New Moon, but there is currently incredible energy around a fresh start. There are limitless ways to reach your destination. Be mindful of your greater vision, but let go of the how. What Michaela reminded us that we will remind you is this: you will never be given a dream without being given the power to make it come true.
