Tiny Taste of Fall

Saying goodbye to Summer was never all that difficult because I knew that Fall (my favorite season) followed shortly after. Now that I’ve moved to the West Coast in some ways it doesn’t feel as though time has changed, even though I just made an enormous transition. After some deep reflection, I’ve concluded that the reason I so strongly feel as though time is suspended is that I thought I would feel like a drastically new person in this new environment. Perhaps the move was not as scary as I thought it would be, or maybe I did not give myself enough credit for how ready I was for this new adventure. Either way I am infinitely happy, and that’s all I could ever ask for. These photos were from my last weekend in Maine with my parents. We had gone to Ricker Hill apple orchards and in addition to apple picking, did a hard cider tasting. Boy, was it fun!! The cider shooters were definitely a tiny taste of Fall in your mouth. Plus they may have provided a little buzz, which is always nice.Spending time with my parents was such a beautiful experience that I do not take for granted. Between the continuous laughter and endless hugs, I felt like everything was right in the world. I sure do miss them, but Facebook and social media helps us stay connected and I feel just as close to them.Can I just point out- how cute does my mom looks?! Isn’t she A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E? That morning she came into my room dressed like this and asked me to complete the look by doing her makeup. In fact, her chic Free People shirtdress and matching accessories encouraged me to dress in the outfit I’m wearing in this post (thanks again Mobear). I’m always in awe of my parents style and their desire to convey their uniqueness and personality. I think its fair to say that they’ve rubbed off on me over the years. Or maybe perhaps it’s been a bit of both- we have inspired one another. I don’t normally post photos of my family members, so it is with great joy I could share some of our precious moments with you today. It’s been one of those days where my heart is bursting with love and I’m reminded of how truly blessed I am.
