I apologize for the lapse in outfit posts recently.. The weather has not been that conducive to shooting with all this snow from the multiple blizzards we keep having. I’m nervous because we still have five weeks left of it (technically) and we are supposed to get so much more snow. Where is it going to go?! Oh, the joy of living in New England! Anyways, the best combative to the icky white stuff is always a good sweater. For one you’ll keep warm and I find too that its an important piece I build my outfits around during the colder seasons. This Madewell sweater is one of my absolute new favorites and it is sooo warm. Here I layered it over a basic chambray shirt and added a statement necklace to complete the look. There are so many ways to layer sweaters and I find adding a necklace is just the right accent piece this type of outfit needs. For more inspiration look here, here, and here..

Also, they may have blended very well into the white background, but did you notice I’m wearing white pants? Gasp! I hear mixed reviews about the no-white-after-Labor-Day-rule and I’m wondering what you all think about it. Personally, I like that the way the pants went with the outfit, so I wasn’t afraid to wear them. Heck, aren’t rules supposed to be broken anyways?

In other news I went home this past weekend to Maine to visit my family. It was sadly just as cold there as it is here in Worcester. My visits home are always so nice though. I love being able to spend time with my parents and watch episodes of Parks and Rec an sip a glass (or two) of red wine with them. I was sad the weekend went by so fast, but thankfully I will return in just two short weeks for spring break.

Also, special thanks to the Twin City Times (my local newspaper) for posting an article on The Fashion Cookbook! Friends and family from Maine please be sure to read it here..
