In the last blog post, I shared my favorite Emma Jane jewelry pieces as part of a special Holiday Collection I curated. Today I’m eager to share a recap of a follow-up happy hour I hosted to launch the collection with the help of some of my dearest friends. For those of you who have followed The Fashion Cookbook for some time, you may be familiar with the styled holiday shoots I’ve put together over the past few years. This year undoubtedly looked different and included additional safety precautions as part of bringing such a powerful group of women together.
My vision for the launch of the Emma Jane x The Fashion Cookbook Holiday Collection was to have attendees experience the food & fashion concept firsthand by not only seeing the pieces against bountiful bright tropical fruits but also be able to enjoy sparkling champagne and oysters while they tried on the jewelry. Hosting the event at Boone’s Fish House & Oyster Room was a no brainer as they are a renowned seafood restaurant in Portland right on the water known for having one of the best happy hours in town. Every day from 2-5 PM they serve $1 oysters and $5 drinks (highly suggest the prosecco!). They graciously let us host the event in the second-floor dining room.

Whenever I host an event, no matter the occasion, I always plan my table starting with the floral arrangement. This holiday happy hour was no exception and I worked with Jennifer Miller of Harmon’s Floral Company to create a custom stunning holiday-inspired bouquet to be the centerpiece of our tablescape. I highly suggest using Harmon’s to ensure there are beautiful florals for your next gathering no matter the occasion.

Another thing I keep in mind when hosting an event is to make sure there’s enough to feed guests and to wow them with the food that you serve. I’m personally obsessed with stylish graze boards. For this Emma Jane happy hour, I opted for an Indulge Graze Box by a New Hampshire-based company called Palette. You may remember I featured owner Jennifer Desrosiers on the blog earlier this year. Not only do I love supporting locally-owned women-led businesses, but the actual snacking box paired perfectly with our fruit set up. Guests were able to nibble on an assortment of berries, grapes, and a dipping marmalade paired with stuffed dates with almond butter and local cheeses and artisanal crackers.

I wish you could have joined me for the happy hour and the official launch of the collection, but I’m glad that Kate so beautifully captured the night so you can feel as though you were there with us! I’m not just saying this, I truly believe that you can look and feel as festive and as stunning as we ladies did wearing any piece from Emma Jane. Her jewelry is not only hand-crafted with impeccable quality, but they were designed with you in mind. Emma, the designer wishes to instill confidence in any woman who wears her pieces. As an image consultant, I rely on her jewelry to not only accessorize an outfit but make clients feel glamorous.
