The warmer weather often equates to shedding layers and the need for good ole Spring cleaning. Now that doesn’t just have to apply to only reorganizing your closet, but also it’s an opportunity to toss out some unhealthy winter habits you may have fallen into, such as not exercising due to cooler temperatures. If you’re anything like me, the extended absence of physical activity has left you feeling out of shape and potentially self-conscious about your body. The apprehension to hit the gym is real, trust me, so I’ve partnered with Myro to share some super easy tips to follow to get you motivated to be healthy and more confident this Spring. Instead of wanting to look your best this season let’s reframe it to be about how to feel your best…
Identify Your Why
Question for you: Why do you want to be healthier? Getting in shape does not always mean losing weight. Perhaps you just want to feel better about yourself, have more energy and know that you’re doing something good for your body. If you identify why you want to get fit, it will help you power through a difficult workout or give you the willpower to say “no” to unhealthy foods that make you feel bloated and tired from.
Embrace New Ways To Be Active
Who said you have to go to the gym? If you find activities that you truly love, you will find joy in being active every day, even if it’s just going for a walk in your favorite place. I personally enjoy going for a run or taking my dog on a long walk. You want to eliminate the “I don’t have time to work out today” excuse by embracing a physical activity you enjoy. Anything you can do to get your body moving will put you in a better place mentally and is better than being completely stationary.
Eat Healthy Foods & Hydrate
STOP counting carbs and calories; instead, focus on fueling your body. If you are eating nutritious foods you’re providing your body with the proper nutrients it needs and you’ll feel better. Think fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy and clean proteins. I personally like to reward myself after a tough workout with a yummy smoothie bowl from LB Kitchen.
Wear What Makes You Feel Your Best
Studies have shown what we put on our body has a huge impact on how we feel inside. For instance, when you like what you’re wearing you tend to show up more boldly and confidently. In addition to what we wear (such as that cute workout outfit) it’s also the products we put on our body that makes you feel your best. It’s important to maintain your physical appearance and smelling good and not overly sweating is at the top of the list. You can look cute, but if you have a bad odor you can instantly lose all your confidence.
I just discovered Myro, a reusable natural deodorant that is equally as good for you as it is for the planet. By buying it and subscribing to refills you’re able to reduce plastic waste. Their Starter Kit includes a customizable deodorant case and you choose the scent of the deodorant pod. You can choose between a one-time purchase or sign up for quarterly refill deliveries.
To use: Simply lift the cap to open and then pop in the pod and twist to lock in place. Once you run out, rinse and recycle the pod and then you’re ready for a refill.
