How to Host a Rosé Brunch All Year-Round

Before you know it, October is here and you’re left wondering where your summer went, or September for that matter. Although we love autumn for the festive activities like apple picking and hayrides, as well as finally being able to layer clothing, there is something to be said about the “summertime” state of mind. One way to keep the summer feels alive and well into the colder months is to host a brunch for your gal pals.

Looking for a few quick tips to plan your own brunch? Always set the mood with music, a festive tablescape, keep the rosé flowing, and don’t forget to have a cheese and crackers handy. We argue that rosé, the drink synonymous with the warmer months, can be enjoyed all-year-round because not only does it taste delightful, but it is a wine most everyone loves. That’s something to cheers to!

Pick a Theme

Determine if you wish to go the seasonal route for a theme, in which case you do, opt for an appropriate color scheme. For an autumnal theme seek out warm, rich hues such as gold and burgundy. When we hosted this rosé brunch a few months ago with our friends we went for bright cheerful colors that matched well with a minimal rustic setting. As a rule of thumb, as long as there is a cohesive color scheme going on, you can mix and match lots of different colors and patterns. Have fun and here’s your chance to get creative!

Plan a Menu

For a more traditional brunch include a dish with both eggs and vegetables, but know that the food options are endless. We love making a frittata because it can be made the night before and simply heated up the morning of. Another tip is to slice up fruit such as blood oranges—they add so much color to a table setting and are simply mouth-watering!

Sample menu:

  • Cheeseboard (variety of shapes and styles) – 3-5 kinds of cheese, green grapes, 1 charcuterie, crackers, almonds
  • Frittata made with eggs, fresh herbs, and goat cheese, and a drizzle of Wild Rosemary Olive Oil
  • Soft boiled eggs served in Le Creuset egg holders
  • Parmesan Roasted Asparagus with Tuscan Herb Olive Oil and Sicilian Lemon Balsamic
  • Blueberry and Arugula Salad with bruleed lemon and Peach White Vinaigrette
  • Crepes with a variety of jams

Dress Up your Table

Try collecting different plates and glasses for your tablescape. This will not only add interest but keeps it fun and personalized. The gorgeous plates you see pictured above and below are from LeRoux Kitchen, a Portland-based local kitchen supply store. To keep the food as the main focus, we chose to set the table with white plates and add hand-painted bowls to tie it all together.

For a more casual get-together try creating a seating area on the floor with lots of cozy places to curl up. To add a tiny bit of color, plus a place to get comfy, we added poufs and blankets from Anthropologie to tuck around the table. We suggest you stay close to neutral tones and add a few pieces with a touch of color to make the setting balanced, yet fun.

Invest in Florals

This is an easy way to add color to your table setting. Flowers bring life to a setting at any point in the year, so feel free to top your table with simple or intricate floral arrangements. Visit your local farmers market to design your own, or reach out to a local florist to help you design one with your color scheme and theme in mind.

Curate a Playlist

Music is always a must. Keep the environment lighthearted with upbeat tunes. Create a playlist ahead of time or play a Pandora station everyone agrees on.
