Holiday Makeup with Beauty Mark

Today I’m thrilled to partner with Beauty Mark to show you the top holiday makeup trends this year. Whether you decide to go out to eat somewhere swanky or join a family zoom call, this holiday season I wanted to inspire you with the hottest makeup looks to best match your festive frocks! Joining me on the blog are my three friends Margot, Katie, and Maggie from my last blog post to help model these holiday-inspired looks by makeup artist Vanessa Golden.

How long have you been at Beauty Mark?

I have been at Beauty Mark for 5 years this week! I moved from Oahu, Hawai’i in 2015 to the Camden area. Originally I wanted to focus on Bridal Makeup but, when I found Beauty Mark I was offered a position as an esthetician and Makeup artist.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is the opportunity to share my passion for teaching makeup and skincare. I find nothing more rewarding then when I sit someone in my chair and give them a makeup update and you can see the happiness after a lesson on their faces  Having the ability to stay creative and help someone is so important to me.

What type of services do Beauty Mark offer?

Combining the most innovative technology with the best products in the world, Beauty Mark is transforming skincare in New England and beyond. Our science-based skincare treatments combine progressive technology with advanced skin analysis, resulting in stronger, healthier, more beautiful skin. Beauty Mark does not take part in skincare fads, and each treatment is highly customized for the ultimate skincare experience. We partner with our clients to create unique plans for a lifetime of healthy, radiant skin. We offer advanced skin treatments from Biological Recherché, Microcurrent, Customizable Facials, Skin Consulting, Skincare plans, Body Treatments, Keratin Brow Lamination and Lash lifts. Bridal and Event Makeup.

Some of my favorite lines are currently Westman Atelier which is a beautiful consciously crafted clean beauty line. Luxurious yet approachable. Plant-based and super buttery shades for everyone! I can’t say enough about their Vital skin foundations sticks either!! I highly suggest not trying to match yourself for makeup online. It can be so difficult, so leave it to me to help! I also suggest keeping two different shades on hand one for a brighter which can be used under eyes or to conceal with. Also, a matte bronzer is a must-have in your makeup arsenal. You can quickly warm up the skin or even use it for a modern monochromatic look on the eyes!

Beauty Mark has been lucky enough to also exclusively offer WA in Maine!  I am also in love with Dermaviduals, which is a German skincare line that is super clean and customizable. I use this line with Biologique Recherché and totally suggest it to so many who suffer from Dehydration and sensitive skin conditions.

Vanessa’s Favorite Holiday Looks:

Dark berry matte lips and a clean lid. Fenty Beauty makes a color underdawg which is super vamp! Red lips are a classic but, it’s fun to switch it up sometimes!

Unexpected Color

A colored wing!! Get creative with your eyeliner, choose maybe a bolder color for a more statement look. I know the 80’s are over but, trust me a blue wing is fresh! Pair a nude lip for 2021! One trick is to use the Revitalash primer as the mascara for it’s bold blue! Lashes look gorgeous!! Pick a color and wing it out!!

Bold Lip vs. Bold Eye

Pro-Tip- choose a dark lid or a dark lip; it’s a more modern approach! Another tip is an old Bobbi Brown trick – apply the lipstick first and then add your liner after! Treat yourself to a good quality lip brush! For bold lips it’s so much neater and easier to apply.

Dewy Skin + Highlights, Always

Superluminous skin!! I cannot get enough of Westman’s super loaded tinted highlighters! Lot’s of times we go straight to glitter when the holidays roll around but, you can dress up the skin in a more subtle way that still is festive with the right highlight. Remember the incorrect highlight can leave you looking frosty; get matched for a lit from within glow! Pro-Tip try adding a liquid highlight on the highest points under your foundation for natural luminous skin. Don’t add a ton of powder on top just where you want to minimize extra shine.
