How to Awaken Your Inner Goddess

IMG_3951

The word “sensual” literally means “relating to the gratification of the senses,” although more often than not it is understood in terms of sex, rather than how we experience the world through sight, touch, sound, smell, and taste. But think about it: we are all born sensual creatures. Inside of all of us is a certain creative power and a deep capacity for connection if we’re open to experiencing it. When we align with this energy we are capable of experiencing a richness for life that is unmatched. To do so, we must awaken our inner goddess if you will.

Your inner goddess is the source of your feminine power. So how exactly do we work to become sensually awakened and embodied women? By gifting ourselves an abundance of connection, love, adoration, healing, and most importantly, pleasure. There are many wellness routines and aphrodisiac rituals you can tap into to enhance your feminine power and harness more love into your life.

Essential Oils

There are many powerful essential oils that can be used as an aphrodisiac, enhancing sensuality. When choosing your essential oils, be sure to research the source. Certified-organic, sustainably harvested, therapeutic-grade essential oils are best, so you know exactly what you are putting on your body and how it was harvested. Essential oils are 50 to 75 percent more powerful than the herb or plant itself, so a little goes a long way.

To create your own aphrodisiac aromatherapy ritual, apply your oil or blend of choice to your neck, temples, forehead, and wrists. Try geranium, sandalwood, patchouli, and jasmine to induce calmness, peace, happiness, and hold aphrodisiac properties that enhance romance and the libido.

Lingerie & Sexy Garments

What we choose to wear can be a powerful form of self-expression and can shape how we feel and how we present ourselves to the world. Whether you have a significant other or not, wearing something underneath that’s made of lace can help to make you feel beautiful and tap into some major feminine energy. Beyond lingerie, even comfortable clothing can help you to connect to your inner goddess.

Edible Aphrodisiacs

Bring on the chocolate! Cacao is a mind-blowing superfood elixir. Natural aphrodisiac foods can promote healthy blood flow, improve the health of the sex organs, and help you feel more aroused and relaxed. Taste is also the sensory system connected with the second chakra, located in your sex organs. Try incorporating these foods into your diet: almonds, avocado, bananas, cacao, cinnamon, figs, & honey.

Self-Love

Self-love is sexy! Perhaps the most important ritual of all, self-love is key to making you feel good in your own skin. Truly there is nothing sexier than confidence and being at rest with your soul. Take time to connect with your heart and embrace your entire being. Self-love is often assessed through self-care practices such as journaling, mantras, yoga, and relaxation techniques. A personal favorite of ours is an Ayurvedic practice called Abhyanga, which is a personal massage where you lovingly anoint yourself from head to toe with warm oil. Another self-love practice that is a-must is drawing a hot bubble bath, lighting candles, and listening to an empowering audiobook or meditation while you soak.

Remember you are beautiful, sensual and desirable just as you are. You are a goddess. You are a divine creature, infused with the power to make an incredible impact on those around you and be able to use your gifts to change the greater world. This Valentine’s Day celebrate your heart and loving yourself first and foremost.
