At The Fashion Cookbook, we take a holistic approach to empowering individuals to build their sense of self-confidence and self-worth by exploring the power of what goes inside our bodies and what goes on it. With this said, food plays a very serious role in both our mental and physical health. For instance, our moods are directly impacted by what we eat. At the physical level not only does eating the right foods impact aspects of your body like your weight but also the secret to naturally gorgeous skin starts with your diet.
Foods get digested and broken down into vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that your body can use to build healthy skin. There are a bunch of delicious things you can put in your body that will clear up your complexion, reduce acne, and provide a greater defense against skin cancer. For instance, foods that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon and eggs are skin-strengthening. To boost your collagen levels opt for foods high in vitamin C like bell peppers, strawberries, citrus fruits, kale, and broccoli. Finally, foods with antioxidant-rich vitamins A and E like almond butter, swiss chard, wheat germ, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, carrots, and cantaloupe encourages healthy skin cell production and work to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the aging process.
